Dr. Shane grew up ten miles outside of Waunakee. He didn’t grow up on a farm, but both of his parents grew up on small dairies. His interest in becoming a veterinarian came from working on his gradfather’s dairy over childhood summers. He graduated UW Veterinary School in 2000. After working for a couple different Wisconsin veterinary practices, he joined WVS in 2003. Dr. Shane and his wife live in Deforest with their two daughters. His main interests in practice are transition cow health and nutrition consulting. Outside of work, he enjoys taking trips with his family and outdoor activities such as hunting and canoeing the rivers of Northern Wisconsin.
